Emma's long journey for life

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Emma's long journey for lifeCancer doesn't stop at Christmas and neither does the journey for a New Plymouth family living with the legacy of leukaemia. Emma Watson, 4, was diagnosed with the disease nearly two years ago.

Last November during intense chemotherapy she contracted a superbug that resulted in two cardiac arrests and multiple organ failure. But now she can jump with two feet, ride a tricycle along the coastal walkway and climb steps. "They're small milestones but they show just how far she's come," her mother Joanne says.

"It's like she's in remission now but it's difficult to say she's totally in it. No news is good news but we can't assume she's beaten it."The journey is ongoing. Emma has oral chemotherapy every day, steroids once a month and a lumbar puncture under general anaesthetic at Starship Children's Hospital every three months.

One of the biggest challenges is a sense of isolation because for much of the time she has little to no immunity. "A lot of people don't realise how long this journey is. Socially, she's not around other children that often but the Child Cancer Foundation send invitations and we have opportunities to socialise with other children in similar situations."

"We have to keep a close eye on her; a lot of children have relapsed. We never take our eye off the ball," Mrs Watson says. "We can't change it. We couldn't have predicted this. I firmly believe in many ways how you deal with it is how you get through it. Humour is our best weapon."

Emma and her mother also make headbands for other children having treatment and Mrs Watson cannot believe the support from the Taranaki community to the project, called Your Inner Princess.

She'll need that support, plus a touch of strength next year when she considers starting Emma at school at the end of her treatment in July. "We've been to look at a small school. It's hard to think about the future. This journey is unpredictable."

As they know too well – many of Emma's friends have lost their battles with cancer and death is spoken about freely in the Watson household. "My hope is by doing that it gives her the opportunity to make sense of it somehow." As for the school in consideration, it is attended by another New Plymouth child with cancer and that thought is comforting.

Mrs Watson closed her New Plymouth photography studio the day after her daughter was diagnosed but she says next year may be the time for her to start considering work again.
When Emma is asked what she wants to be when she grows up, she smiles bashfully and glances at her mum: "A photographer."But for now some sort of fairy toy and a good run of health for Christmas will do just fine.

'I'm studying and really excited about my next projects,' she said. 'I can't really talk about them right now, but I am going to try and fit in some film projects next year in between school.'The 21-year-old stars as Marilyn Monroe's wardrobe assistant in new flick, My Week With Marilyn, and said she enjoyed not being in the lead role for once.

'I loved it,' she said. 'It was less pressure, but at the same time it was an interesting role, although it was a small role. Emma Watson: my life is like Marilyn Monroe's

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Harry Potter star Emma Watson tonight likened her life to that of screen goddess Marilyn Monroe. Speaking at the London premiere of My Week with Marilyn, Ms Watson, 21, who plays wardrobe assistant Lucy in the film, said: "I certainly feel a lot for her and for what she went through.

Emma Watson my life is like Marilyn Monroe's

"I think she was just trying to find her feet in the midst of this kind of crazy circus that went on around her, and trying to find some sort of balance and some sort of normality in her life, and I can definitely relate to that."

Ms Watson, wearing an embroidered white top by designer Jason Wu, said she was currently focused on her work at Oxford University, but she said of future projects: "There are a lot of things that I'm lining up."

My Week with Marilyn, directed by Simon Curtis, stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe when she comes to Pinewood Studios in 1956 to star alongside Sir Laurence Olivier in The Prince and The Showgirl. Eddie Redmayne plays 23-year-old Colin Clark, whose real life memoirs The Prince, The Showgirl and Me formed the basis for the film.

Clark's first job in the movie business was working as a "third assistant director". Monroe, hounded by paparazzi and nervous about working with Olivier, turns to Clark for solace. Monroe starred in a string of hit movies in the 50s and became a major sex symbol. She died aged 36 from an overdose of barbiturates, although the exact circumstances of her death have never been established.

Emma Watson's younger brother to join Made In Chelsea cast?

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Emma Watson has become a megastar since first appearing in the Harry Potter film series 10 years ago. But it looks like it's her brother Alex's turn to step into the limelight - because seems he's been offered a role in E4 reality show Made In Chelsea. 'The producers think it would be amazing to get Alex on the show,' says MIC's Amber Atherton, 20.

'He's good looking so he'd make great competition for Spencer [Matthews],' she explains. If the rumours are true, model Alex, 18, will appear in the show's third series next year. But his big sister might not be too happy about the casting. MIC star Francis Boulle, 22, recently revealed that he had a brief romance with Emma, 21, in 2008 but dumped her because she was too famous.

Emma Watson: The Prudes' New Poster Girl

Posted in : Gossips

(added few months ago!)

Multi-talented Emma Watson is more than just an actress, student, and sometime fashion model. She is also the new poster girl for a panoply of conservative and/or religious groups including the LDS who admire her for her stance on modesty.

Emma Watson: The Prudes' New Poster Girl

It all started when La Watson reportedly said: "I'd never go out in a mini-skirt. It's just not me."It's a simple enough statement, but it has since been heard and repeated around the world. Especially after Emma went on to opine: "I find the whole concept of being 'sexy' embarrassing and confusing...the less you reveal the more people can wonder."

With just a short statement, Watson stirred up a frenzy of activity across the Internet with conservatives making Watson a poster-child for modesty. Lest anyone jump to the erroneous conclusion that Emma Watson's modesty is "about protecting the image of her character, Hermione Granger, in the Harry Potter films," nothing could be further from the truth. Modesty is simply her personal belief. It's a belief she shares with many people, and many churches "from the Latter Day Saints to Catholics to born-again Christians are now rallying behind her and encouraging other women to jump on the modesty bandwagon. "I like [what she said]," claims one Utah Valley University freshman. "I don't like when people wear less and show more."

"I think it's a step in the right direction," a sophomore chimed in. "In society and movies, a lot of creeps think less is better."So there you have it. Emma Watson may eventually become to Bhurkas what the Jonas Brothers once were to purity rings.

Emma Watson's brother heading to Made In Chelsea?

Emma Watson's brother heading to Made In ChelseaWhile Harry Potter star Emma Watson is appearing in My Week With Marilyn, it looks like we might be getting some screentime with another Watson... of the male variety. Her younger brother, Alex, who has already appeared in Burberry commercials with Emma, and was an extra in one of the Harry Potter movies, is reportedly set to appear on Made In Chelsea.

Amber Atherton, a star of the reality TV show, told Closer magazine, "The producers think it would be amazing to get Alex on the show. He's good-looking so he'd make great competition for Spencer. This won't be Emma's first Made In Chelsea experience though. She previsouly dated MIC star Francis Boulle, who recently said, "We had a bit of a thing a while back, but I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I've done. That's why I chose not to pursue it any longer, because I didn't want to be the boyfriend of some child actress." Meaow.

Emma Watson and her LA-based boyfriend Johnny Simmons are 'on the rocks' because she's in Oxford and he's in the US. Watson is now rumoured to be dating an American post-graduate student she met on campus. "He's called Will Adamovicz and is thought to be an American postgraduate.
