EMMA WATSON has denied rumours she is to enrol at Yale University - blaming counterfeit profiles on social networking sites for spreading false information about her academic future.

Reports emerged earlier this week (begs02Mar09) the Harry Potter star had told fans she was successful in her application to the prestigious U.S. institution.

But the 18-year-old is adamant the claims are completely untrue. A statement on her official reads. "There have been several rumours spreading recently that Emma has accepted a place at Yale University after 'telling her fans via her Twitter account'.

We would like to inform you that Emma does not have a Twitter account and that these rumours are false."Emma is still trying to decide whether she wants to attend university in the U.K. or the U.S.A. and hasn't accepted any placements at this time."
