In just a few more months Emma Watson will return to the silver screen as the beloved Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (trailer). But this month she is showing a different side of herself in a photo spread for Crash Magazine.

The 19-year old actress was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, a fashion-industry legend who helped make her the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. She told the French magazine that she enjoyed working with him, saying "This was a dream come true. We spent the whole day together and he can talk about anything - literature, art, science, modern culture. I was totally seduced."
Lagerfeld definitely channeled an interesting side of the actress in the shoot. With white-brushed eyebrows and liner mixed with minimal makeup, Watson took on a futuristic, spacey look that is lightyears away from her goody-goody, clean-cut character.
The Harry Potter star modeled pieces from high-end designers including Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. You can check out more of the images on the Crash Magazine Web site. What do you think? Are these progressive shots or do they fall flat?
